Introducing Gifu-based woodblock artist Narumi Katsuragawa, this exhibition presents 17 works, including a series she created early in her career. Katsuragawa produces monochrome block prints capturing buildings, intersections, commercial building lobbies, railway stations, and other everyday urban scenes. Based on photographs, the images she produces using collage and additional brushwork may at first seem realistic, but the landscapes delineated in white and black contrasts go beyond mere representation, projecting mental images from deep within the mind of the artist.
