Toko’s Lithography and Music

About the Exhibition

This is the second in the exhibition series focused on abstract expression in music and Toko Shinoda’s works. The series introduces her works that share a common theme with musical pieces and shows how they express that theme, displaying the contrasts and resonances between them.
The present exhibition takes up Toko’s works of lithography. She often gives her lithographic work a title associated with sound. “Listen” to the layered expression of her pale sumi ink made possible by the lithography printing process, and you will hear the sounds of tranquility emitted by her works. We hope you will enjoy the “sound” of Toko’s mind, whose resonances cannot be described in words but do exist.
